## In summary

- Export your board to PNG, SVG, PDF, or JSON
- Image for pasting, vector for further editing, PDF for sending, and JSON for reopening. It is generated in your browser, and on mobile, it goes directly to the system's share dialog.

## Export your board to PNG, SVG, PDF, or JSON

Five formats on a single sheet: PNG for pasting, SVG for further editing, PDF for sending, JSON for reimporting, and Mermaid (.mmd) for documentation. They all come from the same place, with the same options for scope and quality above.

You export what you want, not everything: the scope selector offers the complete board, just the selected elements, or the content of the first frame. The selection includes connectors whose both ends are inside, so no hanging arrows appear.

Quality at 1x, 2x, or 3x: the PNG and PDF are rasterized at the scale you choose, with 2x as the default. If the board is huge, the scale adjusts automatically to avoid exceeding 16,000 px on any side, ensuring the file can still be opened in any viewer.

Transparent background when needed: a single box and the PNG or SVG come out without the canvas color, ready to be placed over a dark slide or a website without dragging a white rectangle around.

Truly editable vector SVG: shapes, connectors, and texts arrive as vector nodes, not as a pasted screenshot, allowing for scaling without pixelation and editing in Illustrator, Inkscape, or Figma. Embedded images are included within the file itself.

One-page PDF or one per frame: if you’ve organized the canvas into frames, the PDF converts them into neatly ordered pages and delivers the document already paginated. It’s generated by the app, without the browser’s print dialog or any conversion services in between.

JSON that comes back: the file contains the complete document —elements, connectors, theme, and view— along with the title and date. You can save it as a backup and retrieve it from 'Import' whenever you want, even in another account or to duplicate the board.

On mobile, the native sharing dialog: FlowBoard hands the file over to the system, allowing you to send it via WhatsApp, Telegram, or email, or save it in Files, without searching in downloads. Everything is generated locally, without uploading the board anywhere or using AI tokens.

In five formats. PNG: raster image at 1x, 2x, or 3x, with optional transparent background. SVG: editable vector, with shapes, connectors, and text as nodes in the file, along with embedded images. PDF: a single page or one page per frame. JSON: the complete board, reimportable into FlowBoard. And Mermaid .mmd: the diagram code, for downloading or copying to the clipboard. All five are available in the 'Export' sheet of the editor, under 'More' → 'Export', with the same scope and quality selector.

What formats can I export a FlowBoard board in?

At the top of the 'Export' sheet, there is a scope selector with three options: All, Selection, and Frames. With 'Selection', only what you have selected on the canvas is exported, along with the connectors whose both ends fall within that selection, so that no loose arrows appear. With 'Frames', the content of the first frame of the board is exported according to its order. In all three cases, the cropping adjusts to the content with a margin of 32 px, so you don't drag the empty canvas around.

How do I export only a part of the board?

As an image. FlowBoard rasterizes each page at the chosen scale (1x, 2x, or 3x) and embeds it as a JPEG in a PDF that the application generates, without relying on the browser's print dialog or an external service. If you need a file that can be scaled without loss or continue editing, export as SVG: each shape and text will arrive as vector elements. And if the board is organized into frames, the PDF can output one page per frame instead of a single page with everything.

Does the FlowBoard PDF export as vector or image?

Yes, with the JSON. The file saves the entire document —elements, connectors, theme, and view— along with the title and export date, and is recognized by its internal FlowBoard format tag. From 'Import' (on the boards screen, it creates a new board with that content; inside the editor, it inserts it into the open board), you can retrieve all elements and connectors, even in another account. PNG and PDF cannot be re-imported: they are final outputs. The .mmd can be re-imported as a Mermaid diagram.

Can I re-import a board that I have exported?

No. The export is local: the browser constructs the SVG, rasterizes it on a canvas, and writes the PDF or JSON without sending the board to any converter and without calling any model, so it does not deduct tokens from your account. The only thing requested from the server are the images you inserted into the board, to embed them in the file. FlowBoard's AI features —generating a diagram from text, summarizing the board, grouping notes, or suggesting connections— are a separate path, and that is where tokens are consumed.

Does exporting consume AI tokens or upload my board to any server?

FlowBoard is AIsToHire's infinite whiteboard, and exporting is the final step of the work: what you drew needs to end up in a slide, an email, a ticket, or in the team chat. Inside the editor, ‘More’ → ‘Export’ opens a sheet with three decisions at the top —what to export (the entire board, just the selection, or a frame), at what quality (1x, 2x, or 3x), and whether the background is transparent— and below the five formats: PNG, SVG, PDF, JSON, and Mermaid.
PNG is the usual image, rasterized to the scale you choose and cropped to the content with a 32 px margin: ready to paste into a presentation, Slack, or a document. SVG comes out as a true vector, with each shape, arrow, and text as a node in the file, so it opens in Illustrator, Inkscape, or Figma for further editing (any images you inserted are embedded within). PDF is written by the app itself, without going through the browser’s print dialog: a single page with the entire board, or one page per frame if you’ve organized the canvas into frames.
JSON is not an image; it’s the board: the complete document with its elements, connectors, theme, and view, wrapped in a header with the title and export date. It’s the backup you store wherever you want and can be re-imported from ‘Import’ —recognized by its internal FlowBoard format mark— to recover the diagram in the same board or a new one, even in another account. And if the diagram is better explained as code, Mermaid (.mmd) returns it to text, for downloading or copying to the clipboard to paste into a README or documentation.
Everything happens in your browser: the board is not uploaded to any external converter and exporting does not consume AI tokens. The file is named with the board title, without accents or spaces (diagram-of-registrations.png). On computer, it downloads; on mobile or tablet, FlowBoard delivers the file to the native share dialog, already attached, to send it via WhatsApp or email or save it in Files without going through the downloads folder.
